Eric Merck, LMT

Eric began studying massage and bodywork while still a teenager, taking Shiatsu classes in high school. He began his professional training in 1983, enrolling in the practitioner certification program for The Trager Approach, a gentle and deeply effective therapy developed by Dr. Milton Trager that focuses on restoring balance and freedom of movement in the body through the release of subconscious holding patterns. 

Eric moved to Maui in 1985 and made his home there until relocating to the Big Island in 2015. He began his study of Hawaiian healing arts in the 1990s. In 2000, he became certified to practice Lomi Lomi ‘Oluea, which is a style of Lomi Lomi developed by Daniel E. Fowler, LMT based on the work of his teacher, Abraham Kawai`i. At this time, Eric also earned his license from the State of Hawaii as a massage therapist.

In addition to these styles, Eric is skillful in a broad range of Sports Massage techniques, Senior Massage and Myofascial Release. He has also been a student and practitioner of a wide variety of meditation techniques for over 45 years.
